Obama - What happens if...

Guess I'm on an Obama tangent today, but I believe this next thought really requires some dedicated attention. First - I'm of the belief that Obama got to where he is not solely because he was a black man, but because he was an educated black man who initially presented a message of unification all of
Since that initial introduction to Obama however, he's personal associations with controversial pastors and a 1960's terrorist have begun to cause quite a stir within a white America community - a community let it be known that had all but divorced itself from Clinton yearning for the likes of an Obama candidacy.
Frankly, in the beginning, I don't even think Obama thought he'd do as well in the primary race as he did. I believe he figured he'd take the VP slot under Hillary and then be in the position for his own Presidential run in 2016. I don't believe he or any democratic strategist for that matter could have imagined Hillary's ineffectiveness or inability to caucus during the primaries (which was her ultimate downfall). Any rate, back on topic...
Obama now faces a general election with a proven politician, a man whose character is unrelenting and vetted. A man who, for all intense purposes is recognized as a true American Patriot; McCain is no Obama when it comes to speech giving, but I wonder what kind of command Obama really has on the issues when he's speaking off the cuff - how will that play out in front of nightly news media and the scores of American's watching? McCain certainly understands foreign policy, and has developed enough relationships with many influential businessman and economists that his short-comings on the domestic front will be negligible at best. The general election will be an exciting evening and one I’m waiting on with a severe case of fervent anticipation.
Now to my point finally (I tend to ramble)...
I’m curious what it will mean for minorities if Obama wins the general election but utterly flops as a President? Obama turning out to be an utter failure as President could decry a level of angst against other minority candidates the likes of which have never been seen before in this country (even though many other White Presidents have proven to be failures in their own right)! Will white
Honestly, if I hear one person say Obama’s failures whatever those are to be (be it not winning the general election, or winning but then proving to be an ineffective President), are blamed not on himself or his actions, but on American’s supposed biased nature against the color of his skin will make me just sick – what will be truly sickening is if, in the near future, a qualified candidate who is black or brown or of some other ethnicity be denied because of our experience with the last “black (minority) candidate,” will there be a reluctance on American’s in general to give another minority candidate a try? Only time will tell I reckon…one thing’s for sure however, Obama it seems is playing for all the marbles. Win or loose, how American’s deal with his success or failure will be a very telling time for us all…
