Fayetteville, North Carolina is proud of its downtown district like no other city in America.  And, she loves to entertain all the fine folks who call Fayetteville and the surrounding area "home."  One way Fayetteville interconnects together is on the Fourth Friday of every month.  The following schedule of events for July 25th (courtesy of The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County). 

Whether you are new to the area or a longtime resident, it's time to rediscover downtown Fayetteville.  Now would be a perfect time to do so with the warm summer nights and various venues open, displaying the following:

1. The Arts CouncilCreation, acquisition exhibition for The Cape Fear Valley Health System. Music by Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra quartet. Refreshments.


2. AIT Realty –Karaoke by the Spin Doctor. Refreshments.


3. Cape Fear StudiosSilk Comes to Life, Cary artist Deborah Younglao’s silk paintings and art quilts Refreshments.


4. City Center Gallery & Books
– Presentation by the Downtown Alliance of the winners of the Glory Days Field of Honor photography contest.


5. Cotton ExchangeJazz ensemble Spontaneous Combustion, with new local talent. Refreshments.


6. Cumberland County Headquarters Library – Teen Open Mic for comics, poets, rappers, karaoke all-stars and musicians. Help transform this humble stage into a forum of art, attitude and creativity. Register to participate by calling 483-7727 ext. 300.


7. Fascinate-U Children’s Museum – Children create their own masks. Free admission. Light refreshments.


8. Green Light GalleryTropical Living, a non-juried art show by The Fayetteville Art Guild. Show features art, food, music, dance and poetry. Festive atmosphere will include decorations and costumes from the Caribbean 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.


9. Market House – Scottish heritage exhibition, including Cape Fear Scottish Clans, Highland Dancers and bagpipes.


10. Rude Awakening
– will host photographer Jennifer Seaman and her work.


11. sfL+a Architects
– The art of Kelly Green, music by Jesse Janes. Refreshments.


12. White Trash – Hand scrimshawed bangle bracelets by Jessica Kagan Cushman..
