Missing soldier from Fort Bragg identified

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Authorities have identified a soldier missing in Fayetteville as a 24-year-old second lieutenant.

The Fayetteville Police Department said Friday that 2nd Lt. Holley Wimunc was assigned to Charlie Company, Womack Army Hospital at Fort Bragg. Detectives ask anyone with information about Wimunc to call authorities.

Authorities first went to Wimunc's apartment Thursday because of a smoldering fire there. Investigators found evidence of arson and that Wimunc was missing.

The case comes three weeks after the body of another female Fort Bragg soldier, Spc. Megan Touma, was discovered in a motel nearby. The pregnant soldier had been missing several days. Police said her death was a homicide.

I think we have to look at what is in commn here. We have two females, both soldiers who worked on Ft. Bragg. If there is a killer and this is in fact not two separate and random murders, then whoever it is probably has access to post where he (or she / them) can follow them off the base. This access must be very permissive meaning they have a sticker and all. I would look at ex military who had recently PCS'd and stayed local. Furthermore, did any leave with a disability, disgruntled or other than honorable discharge but still have a current post car sticker?

Her body has been found an her husband a Marine from Lejune in Jacksonville is being charged with the arson an her murder along with an accomplice. Her and her husband were in the midst of a divorce. She has 2 children that are safe and were not staying with her in Fayetteville
