Ya know - it tickles me that there has been such an uproar about Obama's stimulus package.  Everybody's bitching about "pork this" and "pet project" that.  I don't understand it.  The same "representitives of the people" who are currently bitching about too much government spending were riding the crest of the wave with the rest of the Bush war machine.  No one had a problem with cutting a myriad of government-funded programs to make room for a war that was 1) unjustified, and 2) not planned to completion.  THEN, these same people championed blindly throwing money at a financial industry without the necessity for oversight.  WTF?!  Isn't that...  Um... I don't no...  Completely contradictory to the idea of a free market society?  And, aren't Republicans supposed to be fiscal conservatives ALL THE TIME, not just when it's convenient?  Oh, that's right - the world is full of hypocrits...

On another note, as far as the rest of the money for the financial industry, I'd suggest we throw that money back at the tax payers.  Think about it - if we (the people of the United States...) all had our cut, many Americans would put that money in the bank.  (Because the rainy days are here!) That would provide our financial institutions with the deposits necessary to make loans.  Because, if they (the banks) are paying interest on the money they receive, they would be forced to lend in an effort to cover the cost of the interest.  Then, people like me could go get a loan for a devalued house, and make a KILLING once the market corrects itself...
