Kay Hagan is a state senator from Greensboro who is seeking the Democratic nomination to run against U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole. Why do the democrats and liberals think that by having Kay Hagan's candidacy funded by the likes of N.Y. Billionaire George Soros and his surrogates such as moveon.org etc. the people of North Carolina would accept the socialist doctrine that the extreme liberal left believe in? Do they not realize that if Kay Hagan is elected that the majority of the voters in North Carolina would know that she would owe her allegiance to those groups and not to the people of North Carolina? It is common sense to understand that you pay attention to the hand that feeds you. Soros, the billionaire financier as the founder of the 527 organization currently running a TV ad attacking U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole claiming Dole gave big tax breaks to big oil and is ineffective. The Soros group was founded in 2005 by Democratic political consultants Mark Longabaugh and Donnie Fowler. It currently is run by Longabaugh and consultants Bill Buck and Meghan Gaffney. Is the ad accurate? In large part, no. The ad does not back up its claim that Dole has given "billions ... in tax breaks" to oil companies. The $7 billion figure cited is wildly inaccurate, since it refers to legislation from before Dole's time in the Senate and is not even properly termed a "tax break." The $2.6 billion figure is also misleading, since it leaves out the offsetting tax hikes in that bill.
George Soros tried to buy the White House for John Kerry. He is reportedly worth $7.2 billion. Soros, we're told, is a "philanthropist" committed to "democracy." The Republican Party, by contrast, is supposed to be run by fat cats and Big Business, such as those at Halliburton. But Soros may be the biggest political fat cat of all time. He was convicted in France of insider trading. He is known as the man who broke the Bank of England. His power is such that his statements alone can cause currencies to go up or down.. But journalists don't want to examine the questionable means by which he achieved his wealth because they share his goal of electing the Democrats. The media consistently ignore the fact that this so-called "philanthropist" has had several brushes with the law as he has laid siege to national economies and currencies. Here in the U.S., Soros signed a consent decree in United States District Court, in a Securities and Exchange Commission case involving stock manipulation, and was fined $75,000 by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for holding positions "in excess of speculative limits." Stories about Soros rarely, if ever, mention any of his legal problems. This is the source of funding Hagan’s attack ads on Dole.
Does the source of funding really matter you might ask? Let’s see…when your employers or boss asks you to do something, do you? Charles Keating who was involved in the savings and loan debacle said when he was asked if he thought that the money he donated would influence the senators he replied in words to the effect that he would “certainly hope so”. Coincidently the special prosecutor who investigated that case was a democrat lawyer by the name of Bennett and he recommended to the Senate committee that John McCain, who was one the senators under scrutiny, NOT be charged. But the committee was controlled by the democrats would not allow four democratic senators to be charged without charging a republican and charged senator McCain anyway. Normal politics as far as the democrats are concerned.
