Madness does not always howl... The video game market is changing.
Video gamers are no longer just the acne ridden social outcasts living in their mom’s basement. In truth the gamers are now the moms themselves, and even grandma. This is due greatly to Nintendo and their brilliant marketing to target every one not just 12-21 year old males. Video games have become much more socially acceptable and even have their own dedicated television channels and sporting events. I believe this may also be a contributing factor to the older generation of new gamers. For validation of this fact I would like to point out the article below.
For those of you who do not know, the Wii Fit is a board you stand on that measures your weight, balance, and movement and transfers that data to the onscreen display in the form of games and / or exercise (usually combining the two).

Nintendo sold 171,851 units of the Wii in the four weeks ending July 27,
compared with 54,823 units of the PS3, Enterbrain said on Friday.
In the handheld game market, Sony sold 256,765 units of its PlayStation
Portable in the month, while sales of Nintendo's DS came to 217,639 units, the
publisher said.
